This weekend’s Creek Clean-up and Talkin’ Trash clean-up and picnic is CANCELED as the weather is going to create unsafe conditions along the creek and trail. In addition to the rain yesterday, the rain overnight on Friday into Saturday morning will not only increase the levels of the creek, but the banks and trail will be particularly slick. Furthermore, significant foot traffic when the area is muddy will degrade the banks and trail, potentially causing more harm than good.
With that, we are asking that volunteers NOT visit their sections on Saturday morning.
With over 430 volunteers participating, we will not attempt to reschedule on a collective rain date. Instead, we ask that everyone still visit your section in the coming weeks and clean when it is safe and convenient for you. If at all possible, please take your trash with you and dispose of it at your home/place of business. For any tires or large items, please email me their location and we will collect as best as we can.
For those of you that have not yet picked up supplies, we will still host our final evening pick-up opportunity tonight (Thursday 4/27 from 4-7p). We can help answer any additional questions you have at that time. We will not be hosting supply pick up on Saturday 4/29 from 8a-10a as previously communicated.
Here for any questions at all, and thank you for your understanding. We hope to see everyone in the near future!
